Creating Files for Lynx
The windows are basically identical for either Regular or Combined setup.
 The Lynx Create Window
The created data files go into the identified LIF folder. If that folder is shared with the Lynx computer, you need not do anything more.
If the Lynx computer does not have access to this folder, the three (or four if Field as well is included) LYNX files must be copied to the Lynx computer
You may re-Create these files at any time if you make changes in any of the preceding steps. They get re-created from scratch each time.
Once the carnival is under way, it may be possible to make changes to the competitor data, and create a fresh EVT file relating to events that have not yet been run.
Check with the Lynx operator on this.
Each file may be viewed after being created:
 The SCH File

The SCH File
Note that there are separate SCH files for FinishLynx and FieldLynx (Lynx.SCH and FldLynx.SCH respectively)
Any lines beginning with semicolon are ignored by Lynx, but added for human readability.
Lines like 6,1,1 refer to Event 6, Round 1, Heat 1.
All SLynx files use Round 1, Heat 1
Lynx uses this file to show the sequence of the program.

 The PPL File

The PPL File
Showing Competitors (actually all students) with their Lynx ID.
If and EVT file has competitor ID, but not a name, Lynx can look up the name in this list.
As far as Lynx is concerned this file is useful, but not essential.
Lines beginning with semicolon are ignored by Lynx, but added for human readability.

 The EVT File
|
The EVT File
Lynx identifies lines beginning with a number as an event. eg 1,1,1, Male etc
Lines beginning with a comma are competitors eg ,110,1, Davies
After the Comma is Competitor ID, then Lane , then Name
This is the most important data file for our purposes because it identifies competitors in their lane.
