What is needed by the Inter-School Organiser (ISC in this document)

At the Inter-school carnival SportsTrak requires

1.the program of events

2.records

3.pre-entered competitors from participating schools

4.optionally, student data from participating schools

The ISC is responsible for the program, either creating it from scratch and entering the records, or preferably.

In ST 3000, ideally these I/S carnivals should be in a single lineage where records from one year automatically are present next year.

The competitor information comes from the competing schools, most preferably in a computer file that can be imported.

What the ISC does:

·Sets up the carnival in the same manner as any carnival.

·Provides schools with a copy of the SportsTrak program.  Schools with ST3000 can be sent an Excel copy of the program that they can import, or a Backup file that they can Restore.  ST2200 users can be sent a CSV copy of the program for import.

·Schools without SportsTrak 2200 or 3000 can be sent a Blank SchoolTeam.CSV into which competitors may be entered.

What is SchoolTeam.csv?

This is an Excel compatible spreadsheet file created by SportsTrak with all events listed into which competitors can be entered.  

SchoolTeam.csv can be created from the school's own carnival results using a wizard or the spreadsheet can have competitors entered manually

The Inter-school SportsTrak can import the competitors from this file.

Schools with SportsTrak

If the school has SportsTrak, an electronic copy of the IS carnival can be sent to them for import.

The Schools' Coordinators (SC)

·can enter their own competitors into the events

·print out whatever competitor-listed reports they desire

·create a competitor-filled SchoolTeam.csv file and send it back to the ISC for import

·optionally they can also send a full student list in case of team changes on the day

If the SCs used SportsTrak for their carnivals they can use the Step by Step Guide to  migrate competitors from their own carnivals into the IS carnival and then produce SchoolTeam.csv.

Participating Schools without SportsTrak

If the participating school does not use SportsTrak they are sent a blank SchoolTeam.csv into which they will enter their competitors and return to the ISC.
