After importing students and with the program of events entered, you are ready to pre-enter competitors into events.
Note: You can enter competitors from multiple networked PCs. See here for how to set that up.
Competitor entry functions
Pre-entry of competitors into events allows:
Competitor listed programs to be printed
Easier results entry
Even partial pre-entry will help during results entry because some of the competitors may be listed and will not have to be looked up.
Competitors who are listed but did not compete can be ignored during results entry.

Recommended method
This method suits House Carnivals particularly but can be adapted for most situations.
1. Print Entry Sheets
This example is an Age Based carnival, so Year Levels are grayed out.
If some competitors have been already entered, you can choose to have them marked on the printout by ticking the Checkbox Mark existing entries...
Choose what Levels and House to Print
An entry sheet is produced for each house, age group and gender. That is usually 4 x 6 x 2 = 48 sheets. If you don't want them all, this window allows you to narrow down the ones you get.
Remember that they will print to screen so All levels and All teams is fine.
Here's a sheet for one Level and one House:
The form accommodates 15 Events across the top.
If the Mark existing entries... is ticked and some competitors are already in then they are marked on the sheet.
2. Send sheets to house meetings to be filled like this
The sheet then comes back to the SportsTrak operator to enter the competitors from the sheets.
There are several ways to enter the competitors:
Via a Grid similar to the form above
By selecting a competitor and entering events
By selecting an event and entering competitors
